Whooping cough is a highly dangerous bacterial infection

Transmission occurs through respiratory droplets expelled by an infected person, when coughing or sneezing, or through contact with objects contaminated with the patient's secretions. This respiratory disease can even cause death from suffocation or cardiac arrest in young children and newborns.
