Oral cancer
Know the warning signs
In its early stages, oral cancer often appears as a sore or wound that does not heal, or a lump or swelling of the mucous membranes, typically hard and persistent. Initially, it is usually asymptomatic, but gradually, these lesions tend to become painful. The lesions can appear in any area of the oral cavity: lips, palate (roof of the mouth), tongue, area under the tongue, gums, cheeks and throat.
Prevent oral cancer. See your dentist every six months.
